Chapter by chapter, Hong Kong comes together to celebrate the written word. With a spectacular line-up of author-led seminars and a vibrant collection of citywide events across an entire month, the Book Fair is a cultural festival attracting enormous public participation.

A survey conducted by an independent market research agency commissioned by HKTDC revealed that the Book Fair's average spending per capita exceeded HK$870 (US$111) last year, representing a 7.5% increase over 2021, and accounting for 71% of respondents’ average annual expenditure on printed books. Exhibitors can connect directly to city’s book lovers who are willing to spend.

The World of Art and Culture product zone debuts this year, bringing together cultural and artistic works from all over the world, creating a new cultural experience to visitors.

Returning zones include Back to School, Buddhist's Square, Children's Paradise, Christian's Square, Collectible Corner, e-Books & e-Learning Resources, English Avenue, General Books Pavilion, Mainland China Publishers, Multimedia Stationery & Cultural Gifts, Spirituality, Taiwan Publishing Community, Teen's World, University Press Square and Virtual Classroom.

The 700-plus exhibitors at the 2022 fair drew more than 850,000 visitors.

The Sports and Leisure Expo and World of Snacks run concurrently.
