GoGBA broadens its physical footprint

A new business support centre has opened in Futian District in Shenzhen

GoGBA, an online and offline business support platform run by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HTKDC), continues to expand its physical presence in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) with a new facility in Futian District in Shenzhen.

The new business support centre is inside Futian Rail Station, the first stop on the high-speed rail network after departing Hong Kong.

This location allows Hong Kong businesses to receive advice and support as soon as they set foot in Shenzhen, said Peter Wong, HKTDC’s Regional Director of Southern China.

The new centre was recently inaugurated by the HKTDC, the People’s Government of Futian District and the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Guangdong.

Among other offerings, it includes a hall for seminars and exchange activities as well as online services to help businesses set up in Futian.

The HKTDC plans to leverage its on-the-ground GBA network to organise more exchange activities between businesses in Hong Kong and GBA mainland cities.

There are GoGBA business support centres in the GBA’s nine mainland cities – including another facility in Shenzhen in the Qianhai special economic zone – which are run in collaboration with local organisations.

The HKTDC also manages two GBA centres in Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

Some 120 GBA-themed activities, including consultation sessions and business missions, have been held since the GoGBA platform debuted three years ago.

Earlier this year, the HKTDC optimised the platform, launching GoGBA 2.0 to enhance the promotion of different professional service sectors in Hong Kong.

The first GoGBA accounting sector study tour to Shenzhen took place in July, organised by the HKTDC and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Office of the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau.
