This year's Belt and Road Summit, bringing together senior government officials and business leaders from across the globe, will run on 11-12 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Summit – which serves as a platform for multilateral cooperation and business collaboration for Belt and Road markets and beyond – is organised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
As the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) enters its second decade, the theme of this year’s Summit is Building a Connected, Innovative and Green Belt and Road, reflecting the importance of technological innovation and green development.
The forum will explore a wide variety of topics, including sustainability and transition finance, international legal cooperation, start-up and youth opportunities and many more.
Market highlights include Central Asia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, among others.
Business matching services – connecting project owners, investors and Hong Kong service providers – will be on offer.
Project owners will also showcase their ventures in four thematic sessions: Energy, Natural Resources & Public Utilities; Innovation & Technology; Urban Development; and Transport & Logistics Infrastructure.
The Summit is part of the Belt and Road Week – a series of Belt and Road-related events running across Hong Kong on 8-14 September – highlighting the city’s role as a commercial hub for the BRI.
Last year’s Summit brought together some 90 government officials and business leaders from more than 70 countries and regions, as well as some 6,000 participants from around the world.
