Hong Kong labels woo buyers, media at London Fashion week

Runway show highlights four renowned designers

Hong Kong’s vibrant fashion scene and creative talent was on full display to international buyers and media during London Fashion Week, a major fixture in the global fashion calendar.

More than 380 fashion enthusiasts, including models and stylists as well as heavyweight buyers, attended the Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show, where four celebrated Hong Kong designers – Angus Tsui, Bettie Jiang, Rickyy Wong and Nathan Moy – presented their Autumn/Winter collections.

Renowned Hong Kong artist Jive Lau, also known as KowloNeon, furnished the venue with custom neon light installations, giving attendees a taste of Hong Kong street culture. Noiseless, an award-winning Hong Kong design team, provided a mobile guide promoting the city’s designer brands.

The show was staged in Shoreditch, a cultural and arts hub in East London. It was organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HTKDC) and supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London.

Major fashion media outlets Wallpaper, Dazed Korea, Marie Claire, ELLE, Forbes and Numero all sent representatives to cover the event, which combined sustainability, futurism, urban flair and cultural richness.

To further showcase the artistry and craftmanship of Hong Kong fashion, the HKTDC has also set up a showroom in Shoreditch, where Hong Kong labels can engage with media, professional buyers and stylists through arranged matchmaking meetings.

The showroom will run until 21 March, creating opportunities for international collaboration and business partnerships.

The HKTDC plans to continue its fashion push in Europe with a Fashion Hong Kong Pop-up Salon in Milan later this month.

The installation will showcase 15 Hong Kong designer brands, covering fashion, accessories, footwear and lifestyle products, as well as the latest collections from the four labels who took part in London Fashion Week.

Fashion Hong Kong, a series of international events organised by HKTDC, has been promoting Hong Kong’s designer brands on the global stage since 2015.

Last year, Fashion Hong Kong hosted a pop-up store in Paris and ran marketing activities in Japan, Thailand and Mainland China, supporting the continuing expansion of Hong Kong’s fashion industry.
