New green label provided sales lift for eco-friendly timepieces

Robert Wun – the Hong Kong-born, London-based designer who has dressed celebrities, such as Beyoncé, Celine Dion and Lady Gaga – will showcase some of his latest creations at this year’s CENTRESTAGE, the annual fashion show organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

Players in a buoyant industry flocked to Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s (HKTDC) twin jewellery shows, expecting strong sales over the next one to two years.

The 40th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and 10th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), are back this month, returning to the two fairs, two venues format for the first time since the pandemic.

The watch and clock industry is an industry-of-industries, aggregating component and accessory makers as well as final product assemblers and marketers. Quality component and product makers gravitate to a handful of hubs, such as Switzerland and Hong Kong.

Timepieces are a key industry in Hong Kong, with exports of finished items and components amounting to HK$54.8 billion (US$6.98 billion) last year and the United States, Mainland China and Europe the main destinations.
